A real dictionary page, printed at hoodie scale. WEIRDO is the headword, the dictionary's own definition is struck through in red marker and rewritten by hand: one who writes their own fate. The origin story runs underneath, and the left sleeve traces it: wyrd to weird to weirdo.
The history is real. “Weird” comes from Old English wyrd, meaning fate or destiny. Around 1400 it meant “having power to control fate” (Shakespeare's witches are the weird sisters). The “strange” sense only showed up in the early 1800s, and “weirdo” dates to about 1950. So the word they call you was never an insult. It was the name for the one who holds the thread.
